Increase your fitness levels by cycling

Rowing is a very competitive sport, and fitness levels must really be at a peak to be able to endure the physical challenge of a long boat race, whether it’s a long river race or out on the open sea. Usually getting fit will be a combination of a lot of different sports like running,  lifting weights, and lots of stretching and loosening up of the muscles. One of the best ways i have found to stay in tip top shape is cycling. The type of bike you work out on is completely up to your own preference. Most of the time i like to use cheap bmx bikes.  But it can be whatever type of cycling that you are most comfortable with.

Road riding can be fantastic for fitness as well , giving you a great workout. With lots of different terrain types, flats, hills and downhills. Shorter distance’s to start with and then building up the miles as you go along, is probably the best plan of action. Some of the road bikes on the market today are really good, depending on how much money you’re willing to spend. You can buy a half decent bike for about 400 hundred pounds, and if you’re feeling really flush you can spend up to ten thousand pounds on a top of the range road bike.

Mountain bike riding is another sport that is really taking off at the minute in the UK and Europe. With loads of different venues and tracks available to ride on almost any weekend ,it’s a very accessible sport ..Again a really fantastic way to get your fitness levels up, some of the course’s these guys use can be very demanding . A lot of the tracks will be through forests or up and down the sides of mountains, so be prepared to get dirty. One particular bike i would use for this type of riding is the carrera vulcan. A quality hard tail mountain bike with loads of top of the range components on board
